NASA Disappointed that Pluto Looks ‘Kinda Like the ‘Moon’

LAUREL, MD (TheSkunk.org) — After nine years and millions of dollars, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft has sent back images of Pluto, revealing it to be “just another spherical, dusty orb.”

“We’ve been looking forward to this day for almost a decade,” said a NASA spokesperson, “and to finally see it looks just like our own moon is a little embarrassing.”

After the first few images came in, mission specialists at the Johns Hopkins University of Applied Science expressed their disappointment with sighs of sadness and calls to meet one another at the local pub to drown their sorrows over a few beers.

“We thought we’d be witnessing some really neat stuff,” said one engineer, “but one look at these photos and you realize it’s just like everything else out there: another lifeless planet with mountains, craters and no oxygen.  Oh joy.”
