HumorFeed members are subject to the following terms and conditions and all applicable laws. By accessing and browsing the Site, you agree to abide, without limitation or qualification, by these Terms and Conditions.
Links
- HumorFeed Members should post links directly to their own original content, preferably hosted on the Member's own website. Occasional exceptions may be made for material created by the Member which is hosted on a third party website. (The same restrictions apply to third-party links as to Member links.)
- Links should go directly to a permanent, unique URL (no home pages or index pages, please).
- Headlines posted should contain no obscenities, explicitly vulgar or sexual language, no racial epithets or libelous content. Shoot for a "PG" rating in terms of the actual wordage. When in doubt, leave it out. (Bear in mind that we all want this feed to be picked up by as many outlets as possible and toning down an occasional headline will go a long way towards world domination.) Note that you can reword headlines for the feed; HumorFeed will never ask you to edit the content of your website.
- Any images posted, including thumbnails with headlines or avatars, must be "safe for work" by contemporary Web standards.
- Headline rejections will be at the discretion of HumorFeed editorial staff and are final.
- Members may not submit links to pornography, advertisements, or sites with illegal content.
- Members are asked to post no more than one link per day.
- The peer review admission process is an essential part of ensuring that HumorFeed is able to ensure the consistent quality of its material. Members will be periodically asked to review prospective HumorFeed applicants. It is not required that Members agree to every review request, but it is expected that all Members will provide a minimum of two reviews per calendar year. If a Member declines all review requests for a period of twelve months, HumorFeed reserves the right to restrict posting privileges.
- Membership is granted to sites based on the quality and originality of their creative content; an appropriate contact for HumorFeed must have creative control over the website. In the event that a HumorFeed member site is sold or otherwise transferred to the creative control of another individual or individuals, HumorFeed reserves the right to make a determination as to whether or not HF membership is transferable to the new webmaster. If the content on the transferred website will be produced by a completely new set of writers/editors, the site's membership will be deactivated and the site will need to reapply for membership.
- HumorFeed communicates with Members through email, the closed Facebook HumorFeed group, and through private messages on this site. Members should make sure that HumorFeed has current contact information. Please request access to the Facebook group if you haven't already done so.
- Our membership is politically and culturally diverse; we are proud to feature writers from across the political spectrum and around the world. It is one of our goals to help Members network and connect with other people who share similar interests and experiences. We understand that you may encounter other Members with whom you disagree, either personally, politically, or ideologically. HumorFeed expects, however, that all Members will treat each other with professional civility and courtesy.
- Members who violate the letter or spirit of any of the above policies may be subject to reduced privileges and/or expulsion from HumorFeed at our discretion.
