Mayfield LLC Apologizes for Scented Candle Shortage

Mayfield Consumer Products, owner of a candle factory in Mayfield, Kentucky whose destruction by a tornado Friday resulted in the deaths of 8 of its workers, issued an apology today for the delay in candles to market that the company's loss of production will cause.

"To our costumers, we regret the interruption this catastrophe may have on your holiday experience. In these times, we know the positive impact our diverse array of scented candles have on people's lives, and are grateful for your continued choice of Mayfield manufactured products," the company published on its Facebook page this morning.

Emphasizing its commitment to consumer satisfaction, Mayfield apologized specifically for the shortage of some of its holiday best sellers, including its Peppermint Stick and Apple Cider lines of candles.

"Despite expanding production and ignoring storm warnings, the loss of our main factory will make it impossible for us to fill our retailers' orders in the near term. We do however anticipate being back online in time to fulfill our Spring and Fall varieties of candles, including our popular Huckleberry Sugar Blossom and Pumpkin Hayride scents," the company elaborated.

Regarding Mayfield's posts, one response from LadyWolverine44 echoed the sentiments of many throughout the social media universe.

"Who gives a f***?" she wrote.
