Woman with Irritable Bowel Syndrome Takes Pharmy Award for Best Actress Allison McAdams took home her first Best Actress Pharmy Award last night for her role as Woman with Irritable Bowel Syndrome Who Goes Bike Riding in this year's advertisement for Xifaxilin. Beating out Old Lady with Rheumatoid Arthritis Doing Yoga as well as perrenial favorite Jessica Clayborne for her riviting turn as an incontinent septegenarian who goes to the driving range, McAdam's other credits include: Woman with Crohn's Disease Forced to Spend Rock Concert in Port-A-Potty and Bi-Polar Woman Who Participates in Chili Cookoff. "Frankly, I'm a little surprised Clayborn didn't win her fifth Pharmy tonight, but that's not to say McAdam's performance wasn't wonderful. I've loved her work ever since she appeared in the Abilify ad where she takes her daughter to the park," Daily Dose Editor Paul Markley remarked. Added Markley: "The look of disappointment on her (McAdams) face when she realizes her irritable bowels are going to prevent her from riding her bike that day? So expressive. You could really feel how badly she wanted to go on that bike ride." McAdams, whose latest project reportedly has her cast as a woman whose use of a prescription medication enables her to enjoy activities with family and friends was humble in her acceptance of her award. "To be honored for your acting means everything, because that's all this was. Acting. I don't really have Irritable Bowel Syndrome," she said. |
