WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Beauty lies in the beholder, and U.S. President Donald Trump is a beholder of beauty. After all, he used to own the Miss Universe Organization, franchise holder of the world’s leading international beauty pageant.
Now, Trump appears to be employing some beauty pageant diplomacy in his nomination for the next U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines to replace the outgoing Kim Sung.
Her name is Mina Chang, beauty queen.
Trump sure knows how to play with the weakness of the Filipino people — beauty pageants, and, many are saying Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s weakness — beautiful women.
Filipinos are expected to welcome this diplomatoc appointment with open arms, and Duterte is expected to be better behaved when it comes to Philippine-U.S. relations.
Move over, Miss Universe Catriona Gray.
