Ricky Williams Discovered Kneeling During Anthem in Own Living Room Since 2012

LA JOLLA, CA - Debunking the commonly held belief that ex-49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first NFL player to take a knee during the National Anthem, it was discovered this weekend that retired star running back Ricky Williams has been protesting racial injustice in the same manner from the privacy of his own home since 2012.

Discovered by his cousin during own of his periodic wellness checks genuflecting on the living room floor of his San Diego-area condo prior to the start of Sunday's Miami-Tennessee game, the reticent Pro-Bowler was as concise as always.

"I've been doing this awhile," he said. "It's not right what's been going on. With the police."

Quickly a hotly trending media item, news of Williams' five-year-long demonstration was praised by conservative pundits and officials for its methodology, if not its content.

"I applaud Mr. Williams for the way in which he has chosen to exercise his First Amendment Rights - appropriately in the privacy of his own home, where nobody can see or hear him," Fox News Sean Hannity remarked.

The President also tweeted: "I see overrated Dicky Williams has been kneeling at home since 2012. Maybe with a little more effort he could've still been on the field. Sad."
