Mike Pence: 12 Hour Tour of German Concentration Camp "Very Educational"

Vice President Mike Pence took a comprehensive tour of Auschwitz Sunday, spending nearly 12 hours at the World War II-era concentration camp.

"Mr. Pence was a very curious, avid guest," remarked camp guide Uri Vogt, who noted that the tour lasted three times longer than the longest package normally offered to the public.

"Mr. Pence was inquisitive about virtually every detail, from train schedules and occupancy to prisoner screening and production formulas, often asking me to repeat details while he transcribed them onto a notepad or, on occasion, turned to discretely whisper them into a tape recorder," Vogt said.

Pence also reportedly seemed interested in troubleshooting the camp's flaws.

"He asked a few times what went wrong," Vogt said. "I don't know exactly what he meant by that."

Pence later called the experience "very educational".

"Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it," he said.
