WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Amid speculation that Republican nominee Donald Trump will soon quit the presidential race, a clear choice is emerging on who the GOP will name as a replacement:  Clint Eastwood.

The 86-year-old four-time Oscar winner, is a prominent celebrity supporter of the Republican Party who appeared at its 2012 US presidential nominating convention.

During that convention in Tampa, Florida, Eastwood addressed an empty chair used to symbolically represent  Barack Obama on stage in a rambling denunciation of the president.

Republican leaders told The Adobo Chronicles that there could not be any more logical choice for a Trump replacement than Eastwood.

“He’s anti-Obama, a darling of the NRA, a true hero in the movies and has an enormous following across the nation,” the GOP leaders said. The GOP believes that late in this game, only someone with an established name recognition could carry on the torch that Trump has ignited.

They added: “Actors make great politicians and leaders, just like Ronald Reagan, and Eastwood alone can successfully challenge Hillary Clinton this November.”

In addition, an Eastwood victory would be historical because he would be the oldest U.S. president to assume the office.   That record is held by Ronald Reagan, who was 69 years, 349 days old when he assumed office, and was also the oldest in office 77 years, 349 days, when he left office.

Lastly, many Republicans believe that Eastwood is much more good looking than Trump and has larger hands, they think.
