Ice Cream Parlor Offers Veterans Free Ice Cream Cones for Life

Tasty Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Dansville, Tennessee announced this week that they will offer free ice cream cones for life to all US combat veterans.

Tasty Scoops owner Jim Niles emphasized his commitment to giving back to America's military.

"We applaud these men and women for traveling the world to fight to preserve our freedoms, and free ice cream cones is the least I can do," he remarked.

According to Niles, the offer will include all flavors of single scoop plain or sugar cones.

"Waffle cones, double scoop cones and sundaes will be fifty percent off," he noted.

"Also," Niles added, "sprinkles and nuts are free, but candy bar toppings are half price."

Matthew Sievers of nearby Prescott, Tennessee, an Army veteran who lost an arm in Iraq, was the first to take advantage of the new offer.

"I had a pistachio cone. Thank God I have an arm left to eat it with," he said.

Asked what freedoms he thought he might not have had he not fought in Iraq, Sievers was quick to answer.

"Well, free ice cream, for starters," he said.
